Minneapolis, August 23rd, 2022: iC3D Software, a member of Hybrid Software Group PLC (Euronext: HYSG), has released Version 8.0 of the award-winning iC3D Suite. This latest version adds new features for production of high quality shrink sleeves, which are especially challenging for artwork preparation because the graphics must be pre-distorted to compensate for the later shrinkage of the sleeve.
iC3D Suite was the first all-in-one design software specifically developed for packaging designers and contains the most extensive template and material libraries in the industry. Version 8.0 includes an optimised shrink sleeve template with several new features. The new shrink template settings compensate for the differing surface friction of the model materials for more accurate shrink calculation and realistic results. Users can also edit the shrink sleeve template in order to make further adjustments for the most demanding customers.
Version 8.0 also includes other features, including a reduction of the rim light effect when using an environment background to allow users to achieve proper contour highlight of models, MP4 file format for exporting movie renders, new template layouts for sachet bags and pillow bags, and improvement of ray-traced rendering of solid fills within glass models to properly render products depending on the texture and density of the model. Ray-traced models will now have accurate results for dense contents such as jams, sauces, or dairy products.
Says Amy Jennings, Development Lead for iC3D, “iC3D has always been a customer-driven product, with input from our customers in both design and production driving the development priorities. Since joining Hybrid Software Group earlier this year, we’ve picked up the pace and are continuously striving for innovation. Better, faster, and cheaper—maybe it’s possible to have all three after all.”
iC3D is available to new customers and all customers with a software maintenance agreement. If you have any questions, please contact the iC3D team at support.ic3d@hybridsoftware.com.
