iC3D presents new business opportunities for flexo printers and converters at booth 819
April 12, 2017 – After a successful experience last Fall, Creative Edge Software, developer of the award-winning iC3D packaging design software, is exhibiting for a second time at the Flexographic Technical Association’s INFO*Flex conference, May 1st – 2nd. Its booth (819) at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ, highlights proven and latest features of iC3D for streamlining production of new flexographic packages.
Demonstrations of iC3D at INFO*Flex will reveal the quality, speed and easy operation of the software for prototyping products that feature all varieties of flexible packaging including shrink sleeves/wraps, labels, pouches, bags and plastic bottles. Already proving its value for designers, agencies and CPG brand managers, the focus at INFO*Flex this year is aimed at emphasizing its benefits across the wider flexible packaging industry.
“Our product was developed with one specific goal in mind: to enable packaging creatives to quickly create and visualize designs to a photorealistic standard in a matter of minutes for a streamlined packaging design cycle. But that wasn’t the end of the story,” claims Nick Gilmore, CEO of Creative Edge Software. “Companies are also introducing iC3D into their workflows as a value-adding tool that provides more control in the production chain, boosts business opportunities as a 3D prototyping tool, and enhances the overall effectiveness of their package on the shelf.”
Compatible with standard structural files, iC3D imports CAD die-lines to ensure artwork is dimensionally correct for later form, fill and seal. From the first design stage, concept artwork can be shared via the iC3D Opsis web viewer and scrutinized in 3D. Features such as Ray Tracing, Light Map Editing, Perspective Control and Dynamic Backgrounds allow accurate simulation of a wide range of visual and structural effects and custom-designed shapes. It enables stakeholders to troubleshoot new methods or concepts, and ensure that potential issues are identified and rectified before unnecessary costs are incurred.
“Existing iC3D users report new packaging designs on shelves up to 80% faster than before,” comments Gilmore. “At INFO*Flex this year, we want to show flexo packaging printers, converters and design engineers how iC3D can also help ensure accuracy from the outset, cutting costs in energy, consumables and valuable time through 3D production prototypes on demand. One-on-one demonstrations of iC3D are available throughout the event – just visit us at booth 819.”
